    Description
    Roman Chamomile Essential Oil

Chamomile essential oil with an intense herbal aroma is especially valued in classical aromatherapy as a pain and inflammation-relieving, nervous system-calming agent. Most of these oils are obtained in Europe, especially in Hungary, Slovenia, Bulgaria, because here, thanks to the favorable climate, chamomile inflorescences accumulate the most azulene - a substance that has an anti-inflammatory effect. The yield of chamomile essential oil is very small - it takes about 800 kg of inflorescences to obtain 1 liter of essential oil. This is what determines the high price of this essential oil. However, due to its unparalleled properties, chamomile preparations were used for therapeutic purposes already in Ancient Egypt - they were used to treat heatstroke, neurological disorders, and relieve pain. Today, chamomile essential oil is widely used in pharmaceuticals, making antiseptic, antispasmodic, intestinal tract-improving, pain-relieving drugs. Chamomile essential oil is most often used in aromatherapy as an effective anti-allergic preparation, skin-friendly antibacterial and pain-relieving agent, as well as in aromatherapy for babies and children – chamomile is indispensable in case of colic, spasmodic abdominal or teething pain. Chamomile is very popular with cosmetics and perfumery manufacturers - the essential oil is added to soaps, lotions, massage oils, bath products, shampoos for light hair and cosmetics for mature skin. Chamomile essential oil blends well with lavender, bergamot, lemon, tea tree, ylang ylang and jasmine essential oils in the diffuser. Chamomile essential oil is suitable for babies from birth and for the whole family. During pregnancy, it is used in moderation as needed, it is safe during breastfeeding.

    Possibilities and types of use
    • Diffuse chamomile essential oil in a diffuser if you find it difficult to calm down and fall asleep after a day full of activities and impressions. Chamomile relaxes and calms the nervous system. The aroma of chamomile can spread throughout the night in the bedroom - it is a safe, sleep-enhancing product for the whole family. Put 3-4 drops of chamomile essential oil in a diffuser overnight. If you wish, chamomile can be mixed with other calming and balancing essential oils – lavender, bergamot, ylang ylang.

    • Diffuse chamomile essential oil during the day if you want to calm down, reduce anxiety or stress. In addition, the aroma of chamomile is especially suitable for sensitive adults and children suffering from depression and inexplicable sadness.
The first aid for babies, children and adults who sleep poorly is to rub the feet with pure, undiluted chamomile essential oil. Through the feet, essential oils enter the body very quickly and perform their therapeutic work.

    • Since chamomile is a strong antibacterial agent, this oil can be safely used to prevent colds in babies and small children during the cold season. Diffuse a few drops of chamomile essential oil in your baby's room if you notice the first signs of a cold: stuffy or runny nose, red eyes, sneezing, etc. etc. In such cases, chamomile oil should be combined with rosalina or lemon essential oil - they also have an antibacterial effect, while aromatherapy synergies are always more effective than individual oils.

    • Chamomile essential oil is an effective anti-allergic agent that instantly soothes irritated airways. Chamomile essential oil should be in the home medicine cabinet for those who complain of spring allergies, hay fever, allergies to dust mites and other inhalant allergens. If you feel the first symptoms of allergy, simply inhale chamomile essential oil directly from the bottle, paper napkin or warm palms - it will be the first aid. For a longer-lasting effect, you can diffuse a few drops in a diffuser, rub your feet with a drop of pure chamomile essential oil or prepare an aroma bath (see instructions at the end).

    • To relieve allergies, hay fever, sneezing and itching, you can prepare an extremely effective aromatherapy synergy "Gentle Dandelion Fluff": mix 8 drops of chamomile, 12 drops of lavender, 25 drops of lemon and 18 drops of eucalyptus (staigeriana) essential oil. Diffuse the prepared mixture in a diffuser, drop it on the shoulder line of clothing or on a scarf - the essential oil will evaporate from body heat and reduce allergy symptoms throughout the day.

    • For any type of pain relief, chamomile oil should be mixed with carrier oil and made into a rub mixture. Add 10-12 drops of chamomile essential oil to 50 ml of vegetable (e.g. almond or camellia) oil and massage the painful areas with this mixture. Such a mixture effectively relieves joint (especially arthritis) pain, muscle tension, neuralgia, back pain, menstrual spasms and pains, stomach pains and spasms, irritation caused by sunburn (do not use while the skin is very red and hot).

    • To relax and improve sleep, you can prepare the following mixture: 50 ml of vegetable oil + 5 drops of lavender + 5 drops of chamomile essential oil. Rub this product into your body in the evening, immediately after taking a bath or shower, while the skin is still slightly damp. It is suitable for babies from birth and for the whole family.

    • To relieve colic, spasmodic pain in babies, children and adults, prepare a mixture of oils "Calm Pussy": 50 ml of sweet almond oil + 5 drops of lavender + 5 drops of mandarin + 2 drops of chamomile essential oil. Massage the abdomen with the mixture in circular motions several times a day. Suitable for babies from birth and the whole family. The same mixture is suitable for abdominal massage in case of painful bloating, heartburn, diarrhea and stomach disorders.

    • In case of gastritis, massage the stomach area with slightly diluted chamomile essential oil. Add 3-4 drops of chamomile essential oil to half a teaspoon of vegetable oil and massage your stomach every few hours.

    • To reduce the pain of teething, prepare the legendary "Tooth Fairy" mixture: add 4-5 drops of chamomile essential oil to 20 ml of sweet almond (or any other vegetable oil). Apply this mixture on your baby's cheeks, neck, ears and chin every two hours. The skin must be clean before use: oils mixed with saliva can cause a sweat-type rash. The mixture is used when milk, permanent or wisdom teeth erupt. The same mixture can be used to soothe ear, throat pain and inflammation. Massage a small amount of oil on the neck or the area around the ears.

    • An aromatherapeutic rinse will help to reduce throat pain, symptoms of gum disease or discomfort after a visit to the dentist: add a few drops of chamomile essential oil to a teaspoon of table salt, dissolve the salt in a glass of warm water and rinse your throat and mouth several times a day.

    • Itchy or irritated skin on the face or body will be quickly soothed by washing it with an unscented shower gel (face wash) with a few drops of pure chamomile essential oil. For a stronger effect, you can add chamomile essential oil to an unscented body lotion, cream or oil and massage it all over your body immediately after a bath or shower while the skin is still slightly damp.

Attention! Add the essential oil in a single-use amount, as the consistency of the product may change over time.

    • If stung by a bee, hornet or wasp, apply pure chamomile essential oil directly to the bite. Pain, itching and swelling will be reduced instantly.

    • Chamomile essential oil is indispensable in the treatment of urinary tract infections. If there is congestion during urination, prepare a sitz bath: a tablespoon of salt + a tablespoon of soda + 5 drops of radial eucalyptus + 5 drops of chamomile essential oil. Sit in this bath for 10-15 minutes, then massage the lower abdomen and sacrum with the following mixture: 20 ml of sweet almond oil + 5 drops of radial eucalyptus + 5 drops of chamomile essential oil. Repeat the procedure several times a day - very effective!

    • An aroma bath with chamomile essential oil not only soothes, relaxes and improves sleep, but also has a beneficial effect on irritated skin affected by eczema or psoriasis. For babies and young children, such a bath can be an excellent prevention of colds, as chamomile is a powerful respiratory antiseptic and immune system stimulant. Attention!
