Description
You may recognise these animals and plants from a visit to a wood not far from your home. They need the woods and the natural environment they offer as their habitat and so they shy away from human contact. Do you know their names? Each of the 16 animals or plants is shown on each of a pair of cards.The memo game is played with 16 pairs of pictures drawn on a set of 32 cards in total.
Object of the memo game
On each card, there is a picture of an animal or a plant. Two cards with the same animal or plant make a pair. Each player tries to collect as many identical pairs as possible. The winner is the person with the most pairs at the end of the game.
Preparations for the game
The cards are placed on a table with the picture side down and are mixed to ensure that no one can remember where any particular animal or plant is on the tabletop.
Rules of the game
Now you have to locate the pairs. The first player turns over two cards, shows them to the others, and then replaces them face down in the same place as he found them. Everyone tries to remember where these cards are. Play continues clockwise, with the next player turning over two cards.
If a player turns over a pair of cards showing the same animal or plant, he can keep them and then turn over another two cards. The winner is the player holding the largest number of pairs at the end of the game.
