Description
Alpaca wool is a unique wool type and comes from the alpaca that lives naturally in the Peruvian Andes Mountains at an altitude of around 4,000 meters. Due to the large temperature differences at this height, the alpaca has developed a particularly smooth and hollow fiber. This makes the wool not only softer and light, but it also ensures that the wool is insulating in cold and breathes in warmth. This unique combination ensures a very comfortable, high-quality product.
The shearing of the alpacas takes place every 2 years and the silky-like wool grows in about 20 differant natural colors from black to white.
Because the wool from the alpaca is the only wool in the world that contains no lanolin, the wool is hypoallergenic. Moreover, it definitely does not itch or sting. People who have an allergic reaction to sheep wool are unlikely to experience this for alpaca wool and can easily wear alpaca products.
